Bugs & Issue Reporting​

At Nightingale, we strive to build a seamless and reliable experience for healthcare workers, supervisors, and program administrators. However, if you encounter any bugs, issues, or feature gaps, we encourage you to report them so we can improve the platform together.

By providing detailed reports, you help us diagnose and resolve issues quickly and efficiently, ensuring a smoother experience for all users.

How to Report an Issue​

Follow these steps to log a bug or request a feature:

  1. Check for existing issues Before submitting, browse through the existing issues on GitHub to see if the problem has already been reported. If it exists, you can add additional details or upvote the issue to indicate its importance.

  2. Create a new issue in the relevant repository Identify whether the issue is related to Nightingale Android, Nightingale Central, or the backend services and open an issue in the respective GitHub repository.

  3. Use a clear and descriptive title Your title should summarize the problem concisely (e.g., "App crashes when submitting a patient record").

  4. Provide a detailed description The more information you provide, the easier it is to reproduce and fix the issue. Include:

    • Steps to reproduce (what actions led to the issue?)
    • Expected vs. actual behavior
    • Screenshots or screen recordings (if applicable)
    • Device/browser details (for mobile or web issues)
    • Severity level:
      • πŸ”΄ High – Critical impact, blocking key workflows
      • 🟠 Medium – Affects usability but has workarounds
      • 🟒 Low – Minor issue, UI/UX improvements
  5. Tag the issue with the appropriate label

    • πŸš€ Feature Request – Suggest an enhancement
    • πŸ“– Documentation – Improvements needed in docs
    • πŸ”„ Performance Issue – Reports related to app speed, API failures, or load times

  6. Track progress & updates Once submitted, our team will review the issue and assign a priority level. Updates on fixes, workarounds, or timelines will be shared under the issue thread.


How to Request a New Feature​

If you have an idea for an enhancement that would improve Nightingale, we’d love to hear it!

  • Clearly describe why the feature is needed and how it would benefit healthcare workflows
  • If possible, provide examples or reference similar implementations in other systems
  • Tag it as Feature Request so we can triage it effectively

Security & Privacy Concerns​

If you believe you’ve found a security vulnerability in Nightingale, please do not log it publicly. Instead:

  • Email us at support@nightingalecare.ai with a detailed report.
  • We follow a responsible disclosure policy and will work with you to address the issue promptly.
